Answer

Hello,

Are you looking specifically for the opinions of conservative and liberal politicians and commenters on Social Security and SNAP?  Or would you like to find more general conservative and liberal arguments on Social Security and SNAP?

If you are looking for general conservative and liberal arguments about Social Security and SNAP, I would recommend searching Points of View Reference Center.  You can find Points of View Reference Center listed under the Find Articles and More button in the Online Library.  I would recommend using the following search terms in Points of View Reference Center:

  • "Social Security"
  • "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program"
  • "Food Stamps"

You will find overviews of these topics, as well as arguments for and against.

If you are interested in finding conservative and liberal arguments for and against Social Security and SNAP, I would recommend searching the newspaper databases in the Online Library: Newspaper Complete and Newsstand Complete.  You can use the same search terms as listed above or some of the following:

  • "Social Security" AND conservative
  • "Food Stamps" AND argument
  • "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program"AND liberal

You may also want to search a search engine such as Google.  You can search for phrases such as

  • Social Security Liberal argument
  • Food Stamps Conservative
  • Social Security (and the name of a liberal or conservative politician or commentator)

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
