I am trying to find a peer reviewed article that compares holistic medicine and pharmaceutical medicine for mental health, how can I find this?

Answer

On the library homepage, click on FIND NOW under Find Articles, On the Find Articles & More page, you can select the database(s) that you need.

For this subject area, you will want to search in a database like:

  • PsycARTICLES and PsycINFO
  • Psychology Journals
  • Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
  • ProQuest Central

Each of these databases has a box to check for Peer Review. You may also need to check the Full Text box so that you can access the full article. Examples of keyword searches are:

holistic AND pharmaceutical AND "mental health"

"mental health" AND "medicine approaches"

"mental health" AND "alternative drug treatments"

When searching for more than one word, be sure to use quotes so that the database recognizes that this is a phrase.
