I need to find the thesaurus of a database.

Answer

Many databases, have their own approved subject terms. The thesaurus is a list of these subject terms (words and phrases), used to index documents in the database. The thesaurus shows relationships between terms like how terms may be related to one another and how terms may broaden or narrow the subject area you are researching. Using the Thesaurus not only helps you be more precise in your search, but also helps you to generate ideas for your research.

To access the thesaurus of a ProQuest database, you will need to use the Advanced Search. For an EBSCO database, you will find it at the top of the search screen. Note that in the database Academic Search Elite, the thesaurus is referred to as Subject Terms.

To access the databases in the Online Library, click on FIND NOW under Find Articles on the library homepage.
