Where can I find articles from the Journal of Marriage and Family?

Also I am looking for articles with the topic marriage quality and children outcomes.

Answer

To locate the Journal of Marriage and Family, first launch the Online Library. On the library homepage, go to Click Here on Find Articles. On the Find Articles page, click on A-Z of Online Journal Titles at the top of the page. Here you will search by journal name (Journal of Marriage and Familyafter the word title and click Go.

In the results, look for Journal of Marriage and Family in red. Here you will see that we have access to this journal starting in 1988 to the present (though the most recent year is not available) in several ProQuest databases. Click on Journal of Marriage and Family and a new window will open (you should expand this window to see the entire page). Now you can start searching in the Journal of Marriage and Family by either going to the bottom of the page and browsing by specific issues or use the "search within this publication" to use keywords/phrases or other search terms. You may also want to use the Advanced Search option under the Search button.

To locate articles from other sources (other journals), on the topic of marriage quality and children outcomes, go back to the Find Articles page. You may want to search in databases like:

  • Psychology Journals
  • Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection

Both of these databases allow you to limit to full text articles and articles from peer reviewed journals (if this is required for your research). In Psychology Journals, use the Advanced Search for the most options. Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection opens by default to an advanced search screen.

You may want to search with terms like:

  • marital quality AND children
  • marital quality AND child development
  • family relations AND children
