How do I get copies of dissertations on mentoring and self efficacy for students?

My dissertation will focus on mentoring programs and self efficacy skills of African American male students. Are there recent dissertations on this topic that i could utilize for my literature review?

Answer

You can access the full text of dissertations through the database Digital Dissertations and Theses. On the library homepage, click on Find Dissertations.

Select the Advanced Search for the most search options. On the Advanced Search screen, below the heading "Search Options," you will find the Date Range selection if you would like to limit to a certain date range. You can also limit to full text dissertations. Under Manuscript Type, you can select to only find doctoral dissertations (and not Master's theses).

Then you will need to use your search terms. Here is an example search:

On the results page, you can access a preview PDF of the dissertation (typically the first 26 pages) and the full text PDF of the dissertation.
