what is the difference between social and emotional intelligence?

Answer

Thanks for contacting the online library! Has the professor asked you to use a specific kind of resource to write with (i.e. you need definitions or scholarly articles)?  This will help you know which databases to use to start your search.

If you’re simply looking for information to figure out what the differences are between social and emotional intelligence, I would start with Credo Reference.  Credo is a compilation of different resources such as encyclopedias and dictionaries and will be a great foundation of learning more about your topic.  You can find Credo by clicking on Find Articles on the library’s homepage and scrolling alphabetically to Credo in the list.  Once in Credo, type social intelligence into the search box.  You should get back a mix of encyclopedia and dictionary entries that will be useful.  Then, complete a second search on emotional intelligence.

If your professor has requested peer reviewed resources, I would suggest ProQuest Central.  It is a general academic source that is full of analysis and research on different topics.  It is also listed on the Find Articles page.  I’ve shown an example search below—if you’re searching for an exact phrase, use quotes around it so the system knows to find the words all in a row instead of anywhere in the document.  Make sure you select Full text so you can read the entire articles and Peer reviewed if that’s something you require.
