I am attempting to find peer reviewed articles or information about juvenile fire setters and prevention strategies that are commonly applied to
Answer
Hello,
Thanks for contacting the Online Library. For your research, I would recommend the following databases:
- PsycARTICLES and PsycINFO
- Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
- Psychology Journals
You can find all three of these databases listed alphabetically under the Find Articles and More button in the Online Library. I woudl recommend using the advanced search in all three of these databases. For search terms, I would recommend:
- fire setter
- child* AND fire
- adolescen* AND fire
- pyromania*
- fire AND juvenile
- youth AND fire
I would recommend mixing and matching these search terms as well. Be sure you enter your search terms as they are listed above. The * will bring back the root word with various endings--for example, pyromania, pyromaniac, pyromaniacs, etc. I would recommend checking the box for full text to only bring back records with the full text articles attached. If you need scholarly or peer-reviewed articles, be sure you check the box for peer-reviewed as well.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
