I am having such a hard time looking for information on B F Skinner on cognitive development

Answer

Thank you for contacting the library.

You are probably better off searching more generally for the theories of B.F. Skinner.  He is not associated with a theory of cognitive development as he was a behaviorist.  You might search for B.F. Skinner and behaviorism, classical conditioning or operant conditioning.  Reading about his theories may enable you to learn how he in part gave rise to theories of cognitive development.

On the library page, look for the Library Search box.  Under Enter Search Term(s), type in Skinner and behaviorism, then hit Search.  On the next screen, you will see many results.  You can browse the list to look for promising titles, or you can begin to narrow your search by checking boxes in the Refine your search column on the left side of the screen.  For example, you may wish to look at just journal articles, so check the Journal Article box under Content Type.  If you see a title you want to read, click it.

Try similar searches such as Skinner and classical conditioning, Skinner and operant conditioning, Skinner and positive reinforcement, Skinner and negative reinforcement, etc.

It may take some trial but you should be able to get many results.  If you still need more in-depth assistance with this topic, feel free to ask again.

Sincerely,

Laura Rice
