Answer

Thank you for contacting the Library.

You mentioned that you are trying to find more articles about subjects, like "leadership traits."  This is a very broad subject and should bring a large number of results when you search for these keywords.  Many of them will be relevant to you, but many will not. The best strategy is to try to narrow the results according to your topic.

If you enter leadership traits in the search bar on the Library home page:

You will end up with about 230,000 results on the next page.

Think about additional keywords you can add to narrow your focus.  For example, if you are interested in leadership traits of managers or executives or politicians, then you could add the keywords, like this:

This simple addition would bring the results to about 96,000.  It may seem like less, but now your results are more focused on your topic. You can limit your searching in other ways, too, such as checking various boxes in the Refine your search section of the results.  You may wish to limit to just journal articles or books, or maybe you want to set the publication dates to just the last five years for more current material.

If you click the Tutorials & Guides tab on the Library home page, you will see a number of helpful aids because there are so many different ways to search for a topic, and narrowing the topic is definitely going to be something you will want to do.

Guides such as Database Search Tips, Find Articles, Searching ProQuest, etc. have a lot of useful tips and strategies.

If you still need assistance after trying a few of these suggestions, please let us know and we can give you more specific instructions.

Sincerely,

Argosy University Library Services
