I have a book list, how to I differtiate from a book or article?

I have a book list with different articles, but I need to know if I am looking for an article or a book, how do I find this out?

Answer

Thank you for contacting the Argosy University Library.

An article citation usually consists of the author(s), article title, journal title, publication date/year, volume, issue, and page numbers. A book citation on the other hand consists of the author(s)/editor(s), book title, publication date/year, and publisher.

At a quick glance, book citations tend to be a bit shorter than article citations and will contain the publisher information.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to respond back.

Sincerely,

Argosy University Library
