i need help finding a peer review article on the brain function of an autistic child ability to speak

Answer

Thank you for contacting the Argosy University Library.

To locate peer-reviewed articles on your topic, I suggest performing a search in a database that covers multiple disciplines. Academic Search Complete or ProQuest Central are two such databases. Click the Find Articles and More button from the library homepage to locate the links to these two resources.

Below is a suggested search strategy:

  • ((autism OR autistic)) AND ((speak OR speech)) AND ((brain OR neural OR neurology))

After running the search, apply the peer review filter located on the tool bar on the left.

From this search, I was able to find at least two articles that seemed to be relevant. The titles of the articles that I found are:

  • The Relationship between Spoken Language and Speech and Nonspeech Processing in Children with Autism: A Magnetic Event-Related Field Study.
  • Neural systems for speech and song in autism.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Best,
