I need scholarly review articles on Depression
Answer
Thanks for contacting the Library.
Here are some suggestions for finding articles about treatments for depression. First, go to the Library home page. Click Find Articles and more.
On the next screen, you can choose to search in our ProQuest databases or our EBSCO databases by clicking the appropriate link. Many people choose based on their personal preference. In this example, I've chosen All EBSCO.
The search page will open. Here is where you can enter keywords related to your topic. Here are some ideas:
-
Depression and treatment
-
Depression and treatment and effective
-
Effective treatment of depression
-
Depression therapy
-
Mental depression -- treatment
Think of other words you might use or use specific types of therapy, such as counseling therapy or insomnia therapy along with the word depression.
Here's a sample search:
You mentioned scholarly peer reviewed articles. You have to set a limiter to retrieve these. Once you type in your search terms, check the box for Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals. In this example, I also checked Full Text so to return only articles to read right away.
After setting up the search, click Search and results will appear on the next screen. From here, scan the titles to look for relevant articles and try substituting different search terms and seeing what other articles you get. There are plenty to choose from.
